Getting started

Do I need an account to try CredentialPrep?+
No account is needed for 10 free practice questions. Create one to save progress, unlock paid plans, or run a transcript evaluation.
What is included in the free version?+
10 practice questions, one free transcript evaluation, and 10 Evaluation Tutor exchanges. The coaching session log is free for everyone regardless of plan.
Which credential level should I choose?+
Choose based on the credential you are currently preparing for. ACC is for first-time applicants. PCC is for coaches advancing from ACC with additional experience and mentor coaching hours. MCC is the highest level. You can switch levels from your account page at any time.
How long should I plan for exam prep?+
Most candidates land in the 4 to 12 week range. Coaches fresh from an ICF-accredited program often need 4 to 6 weeks. Coaches with gaps since training or a non-ICF background usually need closer to 10 to 12.

Exam Prep plan

What is included in the Exam Prep plan?+
A full question bank at your credential level (ACC single-best or PCC/MCC best-and-worst), a timed exam simulation, detailed debriefs for every question, competency study guides, one transcript evaluation per month, and Evaluation Tutor access. 60-day access from purchase.
How many questions are in the bank?+
200 per credential level. The ACC bank uses the single-best-answer format. The PCC and MCC bank uses the best-and-worst-answer format. You pick your level from your account page.
How is this different from using generic AI on my own?+
Generic AI knows a lot about coaching but does not know the ICF exam's situational judgment structure, the specific competency framework the exam is built on, or what separates a best answer from a plausible-but-wrong one at each credential level. CredentialPrep questions are built specifically for this exam and debriefed with the ICF framework in mind.
Is CredentialPrep approved or endorsed by ICF?+
No. CredentialPrep is an independent study tool built from publicly available ICF Core Competency documentation. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the ICF or Pearson VUE.
Can I try before I buy?+
Yes. Ten free practice questions and one free transcript evaluation are available without an account.

Complete plan

What does the Complete plan add over Exam Prep?+
Everything in Exam Prep, plus 10 transcript evaluations per week and 40 Evaluation Tutor interactions per day. If you are preparing session recordings for a PCC or MCC performance evaluation, Complete gives you the evaluation volume to work through multiple sessions.
How many transcript evaluations do I get per month on Exam Prep?+
One per month. If you need more, Complete gives you 10 per week.
How many Evaluation Tutor exchanges do I get?+
Free: 10 total. Exam Prep: 3 after each evaluation. Complete: 40 per day.
Can I upgrade from Exam Prep to Complete?+
Yes, from your account page at any time. The $60 Exam Prep purchase is not applied as a credit toward Complete, since they are separate products.

Transcript Evaluation

What is a transcript evaluation?+
You paste a coaching session transcript, and CredentialPrep scores it against the ICF Core Competency framework, with per-competency feedback, evidence pulled from your transcript, and areas to develop. It is designed to help you close the gap between how you coach and what ICF assessors look for in the performance evaluation pathway.
What do I need to submit?+
A plain-text transcript of a coaching session. Remove your client's identifying information before pasting. There is no minimum length, but shorter transcripts produce thinner scoring.
What format should my transcript be in?+
Plain text works best. Standard speaker-turn format (Coach: / Client:) is ideal. You can also upload a VTT or M4A file exported from Zoom; CredentialPrep transcribes it before scoring.
Is my coaching data private?+
Transcripts are processed via Anthropic's API and are not stored by CredentialPrep. Please remove client names and any identifying information before pasting. We do not sell your data.

Pass Guarantee

What is the pass guarantee?+
Exam Prep plan only. Complete the full CredentialPrep course (100%), attempt 75% or more of the question bank, and take the ICF Credentialing Exam. If you fail, send Danny your official ICF result along with proof of the other two requirements and we refund your $60 purchase. The Complete plan is not eligible. Full terms and claim form →
How do I submit a guarantee claim?+
Email credentialprepicf@gmail.com with all three proofs in one email: your 100% course completion screenshot, your question bank progress showing 75% or more attempted, and your official ICF fail result. Claims with any proof missing are not processed until all three arrive.
Does the guarantee cover the Complete plan?+
No. The pass guarantee is attached to the Exam Prep plan only. This is not a case-by-case decision. If the guarantee matters to you, Exam Prep is the path.

Billing and refunds

What does the Exam Prep plan cost?+
$60 one-time for 60-day access. No subscription, no recurring charges.
What does the Complete plan cost?+
$59 per month. Cancel any time from your account page. No partial-month refunds; access continues through the end of the period you paid for.
What is the refund policy for Exam Prep?+

ICF Credentialing basics

What is the ICF Credentialing Exam?+
A written situational judgment test required for all ICF credentials. It tests whether you can identify coaching behavior that aligns with the ICF Core Competency framework. It is administered by Pearson VUE. Check coachingfederation.org for the current question count and time allotment, since ICF updates the format periodically.
What is the difference between the exam and the performance evaluation?+
Two separate requirements. The exam is a written knowledge test. The performance evaluation is a review of submitted coaching session recordings by ICF assessors. You need to pass both for PCC and MCC, but they are prepared for and assessed entirely independently.
What is the ACC credential?+
Associate Certified Coach. The entry-level ICF credential. Requires coach-specific education, at least 100 coaching hours with at least 8 clients, mentor coaching, and passing the ICF Credentialing Exam. The current specifics live at coachingfederation.org since ICF updates them from time to time.
What is the PCC credential?+
Professional Certified Coach. The mid-level ICF credential. Requires additional coach-specific education, at least 500 coaching hours with at least 25 clients, mentor coaching, passing the exam, and passing a performance evaluation (session recording review by ICF assessors). Current specifics at coachingfederation.org.
What is the MCC credential?+
Master Certified Coach. The highest ICF credential. Requires substantial coach-specific education, at least 2,500 coaching hours with at least 35 clients, mentor coaching, passing the exam, and passing an MCC-level performance evaluation. Current specifics at coachingfederation.org.
Is CredentialPrep a replacement for mentor coaching?+
No. Mentor coaching is a separate ICF requirement. CredentialPrep does not provide ICF-credentialed mentor coaching.

CredentialPrep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the International Coaching Federation or Pearson VUE. It is not a certification program and does not grant credentials or CEUs.
